Ok by some freak accident in one of my levels...well you can see what happenned here:



Everything was going as planned. First 1 slug came out at a time for when i had 10+ crystals...and then 2 slugs when I had 20+ crystals...but then randomly HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of slugs started coming out and attacking my base...it was like a horror movie...the rock raiders did their best...but no crystals survived the attack...

It has one far off Recharge Seam...there was no chance...

I've tested my map before, and it worked fine, I've just made some changes to the height map, and suddenly this starts happening. I'm going over the NPL file and I honestly can't see anything wrong with it. There must be a feedback loop of some sort happening...

Wow. This must be some huge bug in the code. What did you put as the emerge rate?

Emerge rate does not affect slugs. All of the slug stuff is in the NPL code. And Slimy Slug holes are put in the Dugg file, 03 for in open caverns, 04 for in hidden caverns.

I think it may have had to do with the fact that I had some repeating lines, I've fixed it up a bit, I'll try testing it and see how it goes.

I fixed the problem, but I've kept a crazy version of the script for the Bonus version of the map in the tutorials section just for fun.

LOL cool, somehow I did a similar thing however the slugs didn't goto my base... they ran around and returned home.

yeah that's a common bug with a slug setup that is based on the rock raiders teleported count, rather than crystal count. It happens on Rock Hard a lot
